Intamac win Red Herring 'Europe 100' Award
Award Recognizes the 100 “Most Promising” Firms Driving the Future of Technology
A Northampton based technology start-up business has been awarded a top European prize, previously won by the likes of eBay, Google and Skype.
Intamac Systems Ltd, founded by entrepreneur Kevin Meagher in April 2000, has today received this year’s Red Herring Top 100 Europe award. The award, run by USA-based business magazine Red Herring, identifies the top 100 European private companies currently playing a leading role in innovation and technology.
To choose the winners, Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 700 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. “Market obstacles remain but our list shows that great companies are being created in Europe,” said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss.
Intamac’s revolutionary Internet platform allows the public to monitor their home or business from anywhere in the world, with alerts and pictures being sent directly to their own mobile phones, neighbours or carers. “We have developed new ways of protecting people and their property with simple low cost systems. Intamac’s technology has been adopted in high street products by companies such as BT, Linksys and Yale.

Kevin has been invited to give a presentation on Intamac to the other winners at the Venture Market Europe 2006 conference, an event being held in Paris until tomorrow. He will also be taking part in an exclusive round-table discussion with senior executives from global companies such as Intel.
