Consumer surveys consistently highlight that the top 3 consumer priorities in the home are entertainment, communications and security. Telcos and ISPs currently work to deliver entertainment and communications through their web services, but there is still little work made in the Home Management space. There are actually very few consumers who would say they do not need security. Research from Parks Associates suggest that consumers are attracted by packages that compete directly with traditional security systems, but which offer additional messaging services, have a wider range of sensors (flood alarms, smoke and gas detectors, and temperature sensors), are sold at a lower price point and can be monitored and controlled remotely via a secure website or mobile interface.
