Northampton Firm uses Internet to deliver a revolutionary new way to protect Home and Businesses

Towns burglary rate amongst worst in country, according to new figures

Northampton, September 3rd 2007: According to the latest data from the British Crime Survey http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/index.html Northampton’s burglary rate is amongst the worst in the country with 23 households out of every 1000 having been targeted in the past 12 months.  Residents in the town are now more likely to suffer a break-in at their home than in nearby cities such as Birmingham, Nottingham and Coventry.

Neighbourhood Watch groups in the area claim that the reason for a recent sharp increase in incidents is because the police are overstretched and do not have the manpower to police the county effectively*. Intamac Systems based at The Lakes on Bedford Road, Northampton is pioneering a new way of using the internet to offer home and business owners a better way of protecting their property, loved ones and livelihoods.

Alert by text, phone or email

Winner of the UK Security Excellence awards, Intamac Home Manager is a revolutionary intelligent, yet inexpensive self-install, web-based alarm monitoring and messaging service that helps protect home and family against the consequences of unexpected events including: burglary; physical threat and doorstep aggression.  Should any event occur and the home or business owner is away then Intamac Home Monitor will alert immediately any one of six nominated contacts by text, phone or email that an event has occurred.

Watch your home or office from anywhere in the world

Such is the flexibility of Home Manager that users can even customise their service to include inexpensive webcams that enable them to see what is going on in their home or business, from any internet-connected PC or MMS-enabled phone, at any time no matter where they are located in the world. If additional support is required, Intamac also offers a 24-hour automated manned response service through its partnership with Group 4 Securicor. Not only is Home Manager designed to provide protection from potential crime it also allows the home or business owners to remotely manage and monitor in real time the progress of other events that could occur on their premises every.  Events such as:

  • When children are home safely from school: Home Manager enables parents to get an alert at work when their child arrives home from school and turns the house alarm system off using their personalised PIN code.
  • When an authorised visitor – for instance a tradesperson, cleaner, nanny or au pair is in the home or business: Home Manager enables a temporary PIN to be activated in order grant access for authorised individuals.  The system allows the user to monitor at what time, on what date and for how long the event occurred. The system alerts instantly should an unauthorised individual enter the property.
  • Potential hazards and costly damage:  Home Manager links water and smoke detectors, allowing property owners to respond quickly to flooding or fire when away from the location.
  • Support of independent living: With the Safe@Home feature, Home Manager can monitor normal movement of an elderly family member within the home, and notify you if daily routines do not occur by a specified time each day.

Environmental monitoring and control

Home Manager has the added benefit that it also provides for the future remote management and control of environmental and other infrastructure in the home or office; for instance, to monitor heating and electrical systems and the devices attached to them.

Kevin Meagher, founder and CEO of Intamac Systems comments, “It is proven that premises with effective alarm and monitoring systems are much less likely to be targeted by criminals than those without.  But conventional systems are expensive to install and even more costly to run and so are out of reach to many people.  Police forces too around the UK are reducing the amount of false alarm calls to which they are willing to respond and so owner constantly face the risk of the Police refusing to respond to the many false alarm calls generated by the last generation of alarm systems. For just a few pounds a month, Intamac Home manager can offer previously unattainable levels of peace of mind and help to reduce crime levels within Northampton and the surrounding area.”
