Intamac Systems Ltd, based in Northampton’s Moulton Park, has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 accreditation at its first assessment. The Company worked with Business Link and used local consultancy support to achieve this landmark in their development. “External accreditation of our quality systems was essential to support our growth and serves to give existing and potential customers confidence in our capabilities. We were particularly pleased to achieve this award at our first assessment and the process has been a great help in improving our business processes” explained Kevin Meagher, Managing Director.
The pursuit of ISO accreditation was initiated when Intamac approached Northamptonshire Business Link after recognising that international accreditation was an essential requirement for many customers. Michael Bond, the Company’s Business Link advisor provided initial advice on the requirements and recommended the use of an independent quality consultant. The consultant, Mr George Shepard of A1 Consultants, worked with the management team at Intamac for a period of 6 months offering advice and practical support to the accreditation process. Intamac’s commitment to the quality of their systems and service was underlined earlier this year when they secured an estimated £4 million contract with BT to power their BT Home Monitoring service; a service which alerts homeowners and contacts by phone, text and email of alarm events in their home.
“Many companies fail to recognise the wider benefits of ISO accreditation. Larger corporate customers and government agencies demand that their suppliers meet the standard and Intamac’s plans for international growth encouraged them to seek accreditation at an early stage in their growth. Achieving the award means Intamac are able to show potential clients that they are credible partners by using an internationally recognised benchmark” said Michael Bond, the Company’s Business Link Advisor.
