Intamac Systems Ltd, the internet accessed monitoring and control specialist based in Moulton Park Northampton, has scooped two honours at the prestigious UK Security Excellence Awards 2003.
Held at the Grosvener House Hotel in London, the awards ceremony saw Intamac winning top honours in the ‘Best IT Initiative’ category, and runner-up in the ‘Best Security Innovation’ category. The awards recognised Intamac’s strength in applying their unique Internet technology to the security industry.
Intamac have developed the world’s first web based security alarm monitoring service, known as the Home Manager. By connecting a traditional alarm panel to the internet, Intamac are able to offer domestic and commercial customers new levels of functionality and service. The Home Manager provides an affordable alarm monitoring service that alerts homeowners and their trusted group of friends by phone, text message and email, if a security incident occurs at their property.
When describing the impact that the Home Manager service will have on the security industry, the judges commented, “A truly excellent systems innovation that is not only timely, but could well revolutionise the domestic and commercial alarm sectors into the bargain”. With on-line visibility of the all alarm events that occur at the property, new ‘Safe@Home’ features that text-message parents when their children get home, and the ability for customers to add and edit contact details in real-time, the Home Manager helps bring alarm monitoring into the technology age.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Kevin Meagher, Managing Director at Intamac Systems said, “By utilising Internet technology, we can allow customers to monitor and control their alarm system, from anywhere in the world. The Home Manager service delivers real benefits, and provides wider protection to people and their property. We are currently developing extra capabilities to expand the service further, and are already using our core technology to bring similar benefits to other markets.”
