Northampton-based company short listed at forthcoming awards for dynamic and innovative businesses

Intamac Systems, the Northampton-based internet accessed control and monitoring specialist, has been listed as a finalist for the Innovation and Creativity category at the forthcoming Sharp Edge Business awards - http://www.thesharpedge.biz/awards.aspx.

The awards – which will be held in London on 19th February 2007 - celebrate entrepreneurial excellence and bring together the UK’s most dynamic and innovative businesses, their founders and teams. The Awards will be judged by a leading panel of entrepreneurs, investors and experts and the ceremony will be hosted by multi-millionaire serial entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den regular, Duncan Ballantyne OBE

Intamac was founded in 2000 by CEO, Kevin Meagher, a former Harrier jump jet engineer and its technology was inspired by his work on aircraft control systems whilst an officer in the Royal Air Force,.  The company has grown at 200 per cent per annum over recent years using the World Wide Web to revolutionise the capabilities and reduce the cost of home security and monitoring systems.  In doing so, it has secured major contracts with international companies, including: BT; Bell Canada, and Australia and New Zealand’s largest general insurer, IAG Australia.

Intamac's status was confirmed when it was named in the Red Herring Europe 100 in 2006 and Fierce WiFi’s annual Fierce 15 list for 2006. Commenting on the company’s latest success, Meagher says, “We’re delighted to be nominated for a Sharp Edge awards as we’ve been inspired by entrepreneurs who have dared to be disruptive, and through harnessing innovation and creativity have changed the world.”
